Sabrena and Alex's traditional wedding ceremony at Maui Pineapple Chapel was absolutely awe-inspiring. The sunshine, blue skies and perfect view of the oceanside paired with the emphasis on honoring each other made their wedding day such a joy to capture.
Their Story
Sabrena and Alex met in 2018 while working at a resort. They knew from the moment they met that they had an immediate connection. After a few weeks, they went on their first date and they have been inseparable ever since!
Honoring Each Other on Your Wedding Day
Your wedding day is a representation of your love, admiration and respect for one another. The joining of your families and friends to witness and celebrate your love is a moment that is truly unforgettable. So how you choose to have your wedding day is something that should be special and unique to you.
For Sabrena and Alex, it was important for them to emphasise honoring each other during their traditional wedding ceremony. Sabrena's love language is quality time while Alex's love language is acts of service. Washing each other's feet was a beautiful way for them to both express and receive that honor for each other through their love languages. It was the perfect symbol of how they will continue to serve each other in the next chapter of their lives together as a married couple.
With honoring each other on your wedding day also comes the union and embracement of families. It was so sweet seeing how close Sabrena and Alex were with their families, especially their parents and siblings. A wonderful way that Alex showed admiration for Sabrena and both of their families was by bringing flower bouquets to the influential women in his life. This included his mom, grandma, new mother-in-law (Sabrena's mom) and Sabrena.
Wedding Celebrations on the Beach
Taking your wedding portraits together is the perfect time to capture those early moments of being newlyweds. But it's also the perfect time to celebrate and soak in the just got married feeling alone, with just the two of you.
After their traditional wedding ceremony, Sabrena and Alex headed to the beach for their wedding portraits. When it started to rain on the way, Alex spontaneously wrapped Sabrena up in his coat and they cuddled under the umbrella until the rain stopped, which was such a cute moment. We also hiked up a cliff and Sabrena tripped over her dress and sandals, so Alex scooped her up and carried her the rest of the hike. Those small moments were just another way they really cared about honoring each other. They danced and celebrated under the sunset and it was a gorgeous session.
